100 Families with Eczema Get Help from La Roche-Posay - PTPA

01_regular1-300x300 100 Families with Eczema Get Help from La Roche-PosayI always feel bad for children that suffer from severe eczema. It can be so painful and it can take years for it to go away, if ever. That?s why I am so happy to be part of La Roche-Posay Canada campaign helping 100 families across Canada live a more comfortable life with eczema.

When I was young, I had eczema everywhere; my scalp, anywhere my skin folded, such as my knees, elbows, in between my toes, on my stomach, behind my ears?it was everywhere. I was born with it, and it never disappeared until I was well into my adult years. Even today, if I am under a lot of stress or if the temperature changes drastically, I can get flare ups.

As a child, eczema was a real taboo. People saw eczema as a rash and jumped to their own conclusions as to why I had it. And all the while, the itchiness and pain was something I had to face as well. I was given cortisone creams for the eczema, and I was never able to find a lotion or cream that would not irritate my skin. I still hardly ever wear perfume, and I certainly do not wear any fragrance lotions. One brand that was recommended by my dermatologist, and that I have used in the past with no irritations is La Roche-Posay. Now focusing directly on people suffering from eczema, La Roche-Posay will be providing 100 families with:

- Continuous eczema support
- Information and education to help families better manage their eczema and improve their quality of life
- A supply of Lipikar Baume AP and Lipikar Syndet at no cost for December, January and February

These families will be featured on the La Roche-Posay Facebook page as they share their progress and achievements over the course of the program. The interaction of the families on the Facebook page will help develop a supportive network of families to share information and provide support and advice to those suffering from eczema.

That supportive network will prove to be invaluable for so many people suffering with eczema.

To become a family, La Roche-Posay Facebook fans can submit their story to larocheposay@highroad.com between Nov. 1st ? Nov. 18th and tell us in 500 words or less:

- Your name
- Your phone number
- Name & age of child with eczema
- About your child?s condition
- What joining the program means to you
- What becoming a La Roche-Posay ambassador means to you

There will be 16 winners chosen currently and the submissions will be accepted up until November 18th. Good luck to all!
