WHO would live in a house like hisssss?
This reptile-mad family are sharing their three-bedroom home with NINETY-FIVE exotic animals after turning it into a lizard sanctuary.
Leanne Caldwell, 27, can hardly move for slimy companions after setting up The Scottish Reptile and Exotic Rescue charity last year.
Stately home ... tortoise peers at reptile tank
She has saved hundreds of scaly critters with the help of mum Joan, 54, stepdad John Doherty, 54, and boyfriend Shaun McLardy, 27. Leanne, of Kilwinning, Ayrshire, said: ?We?re completely outnumbered but we love it. Our dream is to have somewhere big enough so people can volunteer.
?At the moment we have around 95 animals. We deal with everything reptile and exotic like snakes, amphibians, lizards, birds, snails.?
Leanne first dreamed of opening a shelter when her local pet shop asked her to take on a bearded dragon that needed rehoming.
She added: ?Soon, we started getting calls from all over the country asking us to rehome animals. Sometimes owners will no longer be able to look after their lizard or someone might find an abandoned reptile somewhere and hand it in.?
Washing ... lizard helps with the dishes
They?ve helped more than 200 animals find a new home. But running the charity isn?t cheap. All the animals have their own vivarium. Light bulbs for the tanks cost ?75.
Leanne said: ?Then you?ve got the electricity costs as well. Often it?s ?60 per week for electricity alone. Then there are vet bills, equipment, food. It costs a huge amount.?
