?Another strong day for UBC Okanagan at the CCAA Golf Nationals,? comments Heat coach Mike Darnbrough after day two in Oshawa. ?Jen Woods is playing very well and providing great leadership. Jessica Kozak and Alana Kent are looking to go lower in the final round and finish the tournament with the [team] gold.?
The top of the women?s competition on day two saw Elizabeth Asselin of Levis-Lauzon match the course record which was set by Katherine Gravel-Coursol one day prior, as she carded a 1-under 71. Asselin leads Gravel-Coursol by three strokes heading into the final round. Valerie Tanguay of Champlain St. Lawrence sits in the bronze medal position with a total of 9-over 153.
In the men?s individual competition, UBC Okanagan golfer Cody Bell had two birdies on par-3 holes in the front nine on day two, he finished the day shooting 1-over 73, and now sits tied for sixth (147). His 148 has him tied for eighth, just four shots behind leader Nicolas Fortin of Humber (144).
?Cody Bell and Will Deck have been excellent,? says Darnbrough, ?and have their sights set on the top of the leaderboard. All UBC Okanagan players have represented the school with enthusiasm, class, sportsmanship and skill.?
