FedEx is reportedly battening down the hatches for an expected iPhone 5 announcement later this September, as the shipping and delivery company is expected a huge surge in orders. But will it be too late?
According to MacRumors, the expected ship date for the newest iPhone device will be the weekend of?September 21-24, which could see an international iPhone launch:
As revealed in the notice, FedEx seems to be limiting employee travel and training around this period, making sure as many workers as possible are on hand to deal with the surge of shipments. The carrier is generally Apple?s primary shipping partner for U.S. orders, although Apple will sometimes use other carriers such as UPS during times of heavy demand.
However, Apple has (traditionally) neither confirmed nor denied the usual rumor mill surrounding their press event set for next?Wednesday, Spetember 12th.
Then again, FedEx might be a bit behind the ball, especially if Apple launches the new iPhone on the same day as their press event. In the past, the company has been known to do that with various products.
Current rumors about the specs of the iPhone 5 highlight the following features:?an faster processor, 4G LTE compatibility, a larger larger 4? screen, an improved camera, and a thinner/lighter body. Any one of these things alone would be huge news, but another huge announcement could be the public version of iOS 6, which is currently still in beta.
