Madden NFL 13 is out for the Vita.? I?ve played it and have a review for you!

Madden NFL is one of my favorite PS3 games, and I usually buy the new version every year.? This year, I opted to buy Madden on the PS Vita as I can see myself gaming more with a mobile device than the PS3.? How did that turn out?? Read on for my conclusions!

OK fair warning here: I am one of the few, the proud, the stubborn: a Cleveland Browns fan.? About the only time I get to see a Browns QB with a 133 rating is on Madden!? The example screenshots here are focused on my team.? Go Browns!? Go Anyone Playing the Ravens!? Now for the review.

Game Information

Here is how Sony describes the game.

  • Only on Vita? The Vita?s front and rear touch screens provide an unprecedented amount of control and feature depth, from drawing hot routes to swatting passes and stripping the ball. Use the SixAxis Motion System to keep a runner in-bounds when tip-toeing down the sideline by tilting the Vita left or right to keep the player balanced.
  • All-New Commentary?Every game has the feel of a nationally televised broadcast with CBS Sports commentators Jim Nantz and Phil Simms calling the action from the booth.
  • Authentic Franchise Mode?Build the next great dynasty with the most robust Franchise Mode ever created on a handheld device includes expanded rosters, pre-season cut days, an updated rookie scouting system, a free-agent bidding system, player roles, in-season hot and cold streaks, and much more.
  • Become a Superstar?Create an NFL Superstar and guide his career from pre-draft workout all the way to the Hall of Fame. Control the growth of your superstar with an updated progression system that allows you to earn skill points during practice and in games. Brand new position-specific coordinator audio coaches your growth on-field as an NFL player.
  • Take Your Game Online?Battle opponents head-to-head over Wi-Fi or 3G, working your way up the leaderboards with every victory.

FrontCamera

Snap a pic of your celebration and send it to your friend when you cross the goal line with Vita?s front facing camera.

MotionSensor

Whether you want to make the perfect kick or keep a runner in-bounds when tip-toeing the sideline, tilt the Vita left, right, up or down to take full control.

Touchscreen and
Rear Touch Pad

Vita?s front and rear touch screens provide an unprecedented amount of control and feature depth from drawing hot routes to swatting passes and stripping the ball.

Game Graphics and Audio

The good news is that the franchise mode that I really do like is available, just like on the PS3.? I chose to play a single game choosing the Browns as my team and the Steelers as the CPU player.? Here are a few screenshots from that game:
